Best saw in class for me, although I appreciate it can be quite individual.

How we are built, how tall we are, and how we cut are all factors often overlooked.

As are maintenance regimes.

If you get one mate the xpg (heated handles) version will put a smile on your face from next month through till March where you are.

I'd have one in a heartbeat if it wasn't for the software.

As the video shows the 357 equals it in performance and doesn't have the software to worry about. Both my 357s have heated handles. I prefer the huskys to the dolmar and the dolmar to the stihl.

I've just sold my stihl ms261, i was very happy with the saw.

I have gone back to my stihl ms361 which only has 10-12 months use since new! Cracking saws!

The MS361 is a great saw, despite the inboard cluch, as they did so much else right on that one - unlike on their newer saw models.

The MS261 is a "schoolbook" exemple of how not to make a 50cc saw.

The only thing that the 357 doesn't have is autotune, and has a shorter stroke, so it can run at a higher rpm easier. Don't be afraid of the e-carbs, it's the way forward! But I'm sure the same reservations were made when chainsaws went from points to a single coil pack, and chain brakes, and nylon mesh or heavy duty air filters from flocked, and rubber to spring av, manual oil pumps to automatic, and so on!

But that said, the dolmar only runs 13.5krpm?! That is the equivalent of the old 60-70cc huskies! That's a fair bit of speed less!
