Prune it in the Japanese Niwaki style and keep it small. Effectively bonsai it into an interesting shape. Add some azaleas, raked gravel, boulders and meditation fountain. Demolish unsightly house and erect huge red laquer pagoda. Force clients to dress in kimonos and eat raw fish. Etc.

But 'could' you prune it at all...?

I have seen them done in car parks here, sap dripping down the stems like candle wax...

Clients getting other quotes which is all good. Maybe some-one will say the same or even prune it and ruin it proving me right ha ha!

I can take it or leave it as we have enough work to refuse the awkward jobs.

To accomplish...what objective? clearance, health, symmetry, size reduction, or all of the above? :001_huh:

Cuts could be kept small enough to minimise drippage. Perhaps drippage will detach client. The Niwaki idea was good up til the raw fish.

Reshape, rebalance crown, come back again in 3 years, repeat ad nauseam, quids in.

.....or don't, and sell the property on to vampires who would rather not have access to that annoying bright thing hanging up in the daytime sky
