As above. Get underneath at the infeed end and there is probably some wood jammed in the groove that that the ram guides run in. Dig it out and all should be well. Had this happen a couple of times.

got an issue with the engine stalling wen the splitting ram returns,

 

any ideas ????

 

Does the spool that triggers the return have a detent holding it in? I would expect the pressure relief to blow off before stalling the engine. A quick fix might be a relief valve on the return port.

If the ram does not fully return the motor is still trying to push the ram back when you try to cut resulting in lack of power and possibly causing stalling.

 

Might be a different problem as my motor did not cut out but bogged down badly.
