Schliesing questions?

Calling all Schliesing users, does any one know what they use for the black soundproofing during manufacture? And how to get the finish? And where I can get it, I'm in the middle of a refurb, Also do any of you guys use the "V" cut blade system? Would love to know what it's like, Thinking of getting it on our next machine. Thanks.

Looks just like waxoyl or similar chassis paint, did my land rover with it years ago and dried to look the same. Warmed it up before applying with a brush, can take a while to dry especially if cold.

Having asked around various commercial paint suppliers I'm told that it's a sound deadening paint that is sprayed on and then baked , apparently it's not something that's overly simple to re cover unless bead/ sand blasted to bare metal and re finished professionally

Hello I have two schliesing Chippers a 200 and a 220 turntable both great machines. The 220 has the v cut blade system it's a little tricky to set the blades the first few times as there are 4 blade rather then 2. The blade life is longer And i get around 6 weeks before a blade change. Also a set of blades cost around £300 from overland and Saturn machine knife don't stock v blades so does costs more to run but you get better blade life.

Just a fwiw.

 

I had a breakdown on the forward rollers on my 485ex, local ag dealers too busy, and even if they did have time they tend to take forever as the machine is alien to them.

 

On the blower to Dave at Overland who spent time thinking and going through the possibilities with me.

left me 4 or 5 things to check, I go through them and find that one of the control buttons isn’t working right (not on/offing with each press) so I bypass it and it works a treat.
 

All on a machine they never sold me, in a different country, and me being an idiot and everything.

 

After service is key, make it a factor in your purchases.
