There good but like all American circular saw processors they take a good half inch out the log every cut thats a lot of cord to loose.

 

You can have bar and chain, the circular saw is an option on the mid size models. The advantage with the circular saw is time as they cut quicker but as you say they take a larger cut of the cord.

The advantage of the Canadian machine's is you get a lot more machine for the money and high production rates with low maintenance. Worth a look if your looking for a high volume processor and reducing production costs.

I like the idea of the hydraulic circular saw, the posch processors down fall is belt maintenance on the saw blade.

It's not bad I guess you would tighten it weekly if doing 50 tonnes.

So you weekly change the bar on the tafjun if doing max production ?

I have been offered an Italian machine, forgot the name, which can get through 50 tons a day, would mean that I would only have to work one day a month.

Can't see why it wouldn't but there's a lot of difference in falling right between. 8-10 and 12-14

Have a look at Cordking CS27 40 Videos - Cord King hope the link works. Serious bit of kit for large timber with an option of a trap door so the logs don't need to drop to the splitter.

I always thought circular saws were thinner than bar & chain, I guess the bigger blades need to be thicker but half an inch?
