Thanks for the help, plenty of food for thought. I have been offered an Italian machine, forgot the name, which can get through 50 tons a day, would mean that I would only have to work one day a month.

Our firewood business is flexible at the moment as we don't really have any costs apart from the wood so able to slow down if demand slows. Bit stuck at the moment as like to get a bigger machine but would mean that tied down for a few years. My biggest issues are finding decent wood, which I have so far, as I have limited time for drying, and supplying more traders as I'm relying on too few people to buy.

Been a bit lucky, so far. Have a neighbour who has a timber lorry so at the beginning, January, he found wood which had been felled for a while and our demand was low. But now, shifting ~8m3 a day, we're having artic loads more frequently so we've had the 'green' softwood which is mid 20s% and putting them in vented bags and keeping them for as long as we can, month max now. Customers understand and our price reflects that.

Posch 360 seams to be a solid machine but I was wondering what are the rivals to it such as fuelwood transaw. I process softwood so splitting force is too important but bigger the diameter the better. I'm going to APF so would like to do some homework beforehand.

I have been thinking this, although it is mainly trade sales which means I don't need to deliver, and they have to make some money. We have a farmshop so hoping nets will sell well this winter, that's where the money is.

Started the start of the year and have managed around 250m3 softwood; spruce and larch. Although I'm probably selling it too cheap at the moment.

Evening, is my first post so go easy on me. I bought a japa 700 at the start of the year to produce logs for our farmshop but have started supplying local bloke who is now buying 4-6 bags a day. Therefore, I'm looking to upgrade my processor and shift some more wood. Is there a market/demand for wholesale softwood logs (possibly kindling) in either nets or cube bags in the West Midlands and Mid Wales (I live in NW Shropshire)? Thanks for your time. Bob.
