I think just putting up with stress is wrong, you may be able to handle the symptoms that you are aware of but what about what its doing inside. There are well known links between stress and other more serious conditions, IBS, Crohns, heart disease, stroke...... Best get it under control somehow.

I suffer occasionally but like others have said you need some kind of release mechanism, what ever works for you. I sleep like a log 95% of the time and if I didn't I'd definitely do something about it, sleep is very important IMO.

If you are worried about stuff while you are laying in bed at night, get up (or do it before bed) and write down everything you are worried about. Then you can tell yourself you'll deal with it in the morning.

This always works for me.

Also there some good relaxing sounds apps available that will help you drift off.

Hope that helps :)

If I cant sleep I often do this, I often start thinking about 100 things instead of sleeping, and worry about forgetting each one of them for the next day. Just write them all down and you often stop thinking about them!

A doctor would also probably say to make sure you drink plenty of water, maybe have some herbal tea before bed, make sure you get plenty of exercise. Sometimes I find that a fresh set of sheets and fluffed up pillows helps :001_rolleyes:

The stress is inevitable. It's the dealing with it that makes the difference. Andy Collins summed it up well. You need to have something to do when you get home. Arbtalk can be handy but it's still work so your mind isn't switched away from it.

Things don't always go to plan. A job takes a bit longer than normal which causes rushing and stress at the end of the day. Get on with it but think what you would do different. Then when you find a similar situation you know a plan of action.

Worrying about it won't help any problem get fixed or help your mind. Break them down into small plans of action. Instead of a big job you've now got 5 easy jobs.

Most of the time Nothing is that urgent that it has to be completed that day. Discuss it with clients if it's a job overrunning. I've found most are understanding.

I find gaming can really help me switch off. Don't need much of it but it helps me focus on something that's fictional and releases stress. Bad drivers everywhere? Stick grand theft auto on and use that for getting over it!

The sounds are amazing :) my favourites are your rain sounds (there's even a rain in the forest option for you tree boys) , and I love the water splashing the pier one. Makes me dream of being on holiday dipping my toes in the sea. I fall asleep in minutes then dream about cabbages or something random :D

If only we could control our dreams!

Oooh got a bit deep there...
