another haix-atus

has anyone had any luck gluing the soles on their haix boots, or can anyone recommend the bondiest toughiest glue that might do the job? The rest of my explorers looks as if they've got another decade left in them, even the laces!!

If the uppers are that good, might it be worth having them professionally re-soled with brand new soles?

I would go with polyurethane adhesive

thanks chaps, i might as well try the polyurethane and if that doesn't last then its probably worth a re-sole as you say.....few years old now, light use really....they dont even stink too bad

Wish I got a few years out of a pair of boots! 8 months is good for me.

You can do worse than send them off to Lancs Sports Repairs. Put new Vibram soles on my Meindls.

Our local cobbler now deceased was brilliant for this kind of thing, he put me a commando sole on a pair of Daisy Roots walking boots before Vibram was invented. He also hand made a pair of steel toecap boots for a small bloke who worked in the pit, nothing was available in his size at the time. Evo stik impact used according to the instructions is the stuff to use and keep it clamped for a while or overnight to let it cure properly.
