Eh?! You can Italian red leaved varieties, that'd be £2.70 for 100g of seeds though surely!

Wild garlic flowers, lovely on their own or in a salad!

The much maligned elderberry. The flowers can be made into a syrup which dilutes as a cordial to make a posh but very tasty drink with lemonade. Freeze the flowers until you need em.

The berries which are about ready now make another super syrup to dilute with lemonade.

Want to try rosehips this year, they're supposed to be much higher in vitamin c than oranges and can be made into syrup or added to soup etc. Just need to get some muslin type material to strain it through to get rid of the seeds.

Jack by the hedge, the leaves have a slightly horseradish taste to them and are nice to eat on a walk though the lanes.

I'm considering buying a steam juice extractor .....

Seems simple way of making juice/jelly etc plenty of fruits coming soon, blackberry, elderberry, rose hips, apple, medlar, pears, and grapes No quince this year Though

 

Have planted sweet chestnuts hopefully get some nuts this year If they fatten up

 

I'm feeding about a dozen pheasants with my chickens so they will be going in freezer in month or so

 

Also swap firewood for fish ......

 

So all coming together slowly........

 

But some of supposedly free food is crap......

 

 

Don't rate most foods for free, they just don't taste good .....
