Tripod ladders

Hi all I'm looking at getting a set of tripod ladders as I seem to be doing more and more big hedging jobs and I'm fed up of almost killing myself on a small set of ladders.

What would people recommend I'm still trying to figure out what height I should go for

Thanks

Andy

I use the Japanese style tripod ladders with the adjustable legs and they are by far and away the most versatile set of steps I've owned. I wouldn't bother with the non-adjustable as there aren't that many occasions when you're on a perfectly flat ground.

I've got three sets, 2 x large (about 12 rungs) and a smaller set (about 8 rungs). We have had a problem with a set though when the individual leg snapped at the point where the chain attachment is; we know bolster that area with padding to reduce the risk of damage.

Thanks guys I was looking at the Japanese ones wasn't sure how good they were but there seems a lot of good things said about them think ill end up getting a set of 3.6m ones these should be tall enough for what I need.

I did have a set of 12 step tripod ladders till a little scrote stole them earlier this week.

3 adjustable legs make life so easy especially for leaning out to do the tops of wide hedges.

Going to have to order another set tomorrow as just got another whole week trimming big yew hedges with limited access.
