Well I cast the entrails on the lawn but the dog got there before I could read them so it's anybody's guess. I get the winter fuel allowance this year so I hope it keeps fine and I can spend it on pop and crisps.

Definitely agree with Skyhuck about last 4 out of 5 winters being bad. TBH even this last winter was a nightmare for how wet it was, never stopped raining. I can cope with the cold but non stop rain gets me down! I'm living in the wrong place really :laugh1:

Most long range forecasts this time last year were saying a severely long cold winter ahead, and what happened.

My log store is full so I am as ready as I can be.

I can confirm that the local witch I spoke to said the rain this winter will more than likely be wet, could be lumpy and it will be darker at night that at lunch time. There is also a chance the wind could be blowy.

Weather men guess at best and generally the bloke you went to school with who lied day in day out is now a weather man.

Just get a 'weather stone', & hang it outside, failproof & accurate.

If the stone is wet its raining.

If it's white it's frosty.

If its white on top it's snowing.

If its swinging around it's windy.

If you can't see the bloody thing it's foggy.

The local war memorial on the hill over the village serves as our weather forecasting device

If you cant see the monument, its raining.

If you can see the monument, its about to rain.

If you go out in the rain or frost, look on the ground & if you see a stone that corresponds to the conditions prevailing, chances are it's a good one, if it has a hole in it then it's easier to hang mate!

Failing that, for a marginal fee I can send you one!
