thulborn did use a compactor bin lorry , I thought the weight of the vehicle itself seemed to be the fly in the ointment , why not just use a 10,12 or bigger tipper??

when i worked for KJ Thulborn many years ago we used to do roadside works and flood the site with bods who kept the large twin axle chipper going flat out and chipped into the back of a bin lorry which compacted the chip. twas a good setup.

I think M&M (or MJ can't remember now) Tree surgeons uses to use one around the Wimbledon area a good many years ago.

M&L used to have one and I used to have a freelancer who worked for them then.

He reckoned it was great and the only draw back was the height to lift everything into the back.

I guess the full sized lorry like they had could be a pain to load but the smaller lorries would be dead easy and could get into most driveways.

Dispenses with the chipper which is appealing.

The only problem I can foresee is: What the hell do you do with a massive block of compressed trees?? :confused1:

Bin lorry's aren't that expensive really, so there may be something in this. But as Old Man Tree Care says, what do you do with a large square of compressed brash?
