Hi all,

Posted a pic on Stihls' Facebook page recently.

The pic is two years old and shows my son (13 at the time) holding the new 880.

This was Stihls response:

STIHL Hello Dave Schofield,

Thank you for this picture.

We know that enthusiasm for STIHL begins at a young age. Please keep in mind that only adults should operate a chainsaw. We’d like to make sure that our younger fans develop safety awareness from early on, so please ensure that you keep the little ones at a safe distance from the work area when working with your STIHL products. For these reasons we decided to hide your post on our facebook wall. We thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards,

your STIHL team

Anyone think they may be going a little over the top.

Great pic of your lad!

I think they have a public image to maintain, & may well have had a plastic health & safety equal rights lefty type on their case, you know how things are out there, jolly decent of them to send you the message imo.

Done!

I love that picture:thumbup1:

The thing is your lad probably stuck the dogs into the back of his leg and has learnt that big heavy saws are worth a watching:001_rolleyes:

I'm sorry but I think the photo is outrageously irresponsible.

The lad isn't wearing a Hi-Vis vest so how can it possibly be safe?!
