Hi all

On Site and having trouble with this saw , needs to be choked to start even though it's warm , revs fine but won't idle , any help much appreciated, husqvarna 540 xp

Under warranty? Take it in to the shop, might be auto tune, I had something similar when I first bought mine they put it on the computer.. The woes of computer chainsaws!

They do need some choke if left for a while even when warm.

 

Did you set the auto tune up as per the instructions?

What!!!!! ,computer,diagnostics,auto tune, I wanted a chainsaw not a car! Where can I buy the diagnostic software? I'm not having my pants pulled down every 5 minutes it's out of tune, muggin buggers

To set the auto tune all you need do is start it and cut some wood bar size for a couple of minuets . To keep the auto tune happy try not to leave the saw ticking over to long always prime when starting and a bit of choke if it been left a bit i treat all our auto tune saws this way never have problems

Sounds like the impulse pipe has come detached to me.

 

 

It has a pulse now haha ! Where can I find that marc,I think you might be right as it started doing it after it got pinched in a cut and I gave it a bit of a yank ;)
