Black stuff on chippers

Anyone know what that stuff (I assume its something to do with deadening sound) that is painted onto the spout of some chippers vermeer bc1000, schliesing etc?

 

Whats it called any where can I get it from?

We used to tidy ours up occasionally with car body underseal from a motorists shop.

 

Not the genuine stuff, but looks ok and provides some protection.

i have done the insides of my chipper engine bay as well and it has made a difference i think

You can use car anti stone chip paint to the same effect, I know you can get it in grey, not sure about black.

I have used plenty of underseal in the past trying to keep the rot away from our truck! but I dont think it would do since nearly all the stuff I have used stays semi liquid and I could see it making a right mess!

 

The stone chip stuff sounds a bout right.

 

Must be able to get it somewhere though?

the shultz paint sets hard so can be painted

Its called body shultz used on car chasis its the type that dries to leave a thick layer of protection
