I have not done my trailer test but knew you cant tow in the BMW lane  I got a highway code a few years ago and took the trouble to read it and was amazed how much I did not know well worth doing. All I have to do now is work out how to use traffic lights with shades on that your not supposed to be able to see but still can.

I thought it was 60 for a car/van with a trailer on a dual carriageway A road? 50mph over 3.5tons?

I think its any commercial vehicle unless its car derived 50mph duals 60 motorways. So vitos and small transits are 50 mph on dual carrige way even when solo.

I stand corrected on the 50mph bit on dual carriage ways I've been driving for 35 years and it must have been 50mph at some time and i didn't realize it had changed how bad is that

any way we can get there a bit quicker now

thanks for that charles

As I understand it:

Car

Single carriageway 60

Dual carriageway 70

M road 70

Van/commercial under 3.5ton

Single carriageway 50

Dual 60

M road 70

Trailer

Single carriageway 50

Dual 60

M road 60

Over 3.5 ton vehicle

Single carriageway 40

Dual 50

M road 60

I may be wrong
