What a thread, pmsl. Ive never seen anything like in my life. I love the way you've gone back to what you know best, which is not a bad thing.

I've had 2 pairs of Haix Trekker and found they slip off your heal a little, otherwise they're not bad ground boots but a bit heavy and chunky for climbing.

Can't fault my AirStream other than essentially they're a walking boot with chainsaw protection. In my opinion they're perfect for climbing but I don't think they're tough enough for ground work.

I'm puzzle as to why no one suggested PFanner boots, they look rock solid a bit like my Asolo powermatics!

Pfanner best boots I've owned lasted nearly 3 yrs and just the sole worn out, really comfy bit like her on Munster when new,got air streems now but not as comfy.would like to get a resole on zermett.

I have Pfanner Zermatts . Very comfy just standing or climbing but a bit stiff for walking about don't you find ?

Got two pair of airstreams, one of which is six years old, and a pair of Stein phantoms for ground work which have actually turned out to be pretty good. Harder wearing soles than the airstreams but not as comfy but I'd still recommend them. Hard to go much past the airstreams for climbing though. Awesome boots.

Gave up trying to find the perfect hiax for me, I wear hiking boots most of the time when climbing so hopefully these ones will last a few years :)

Pfanner zermatts are pants!!!!

There fine if you want to stand still all day (very comfy)

But if you actually do anything ie walking or climbing they feel like you've got a load of concrete strapped around your feet!

They are too heavy and don't give enough and that's exactly why they last so long because they have too much material or leather in them.

I think as with most peoples reviews it's a case of coz I've got them there the best.
