Based Warwickshire direction so protech weren't too far away. Yes does wobble lots but think that's down to digger bushes needing replacing, once you get going and driver is all vertical things go better. Our problem is you have to be working at nearly full reach to get it on the post in the first place.

Yes that was the other problem I had- particularly with 7ft strainers I found it a bit of a faff getting the digger in the right position as the working range was very small.

I think the one I had had the 100kg weight on it, which could knock most posts up to 5-6inch diameter, it could do bigger but depended on how good the soil was. I used to pre drill any large strainers with a hydraulic 4inch auger beforehand- the strainers then drove pretty quick and straight after that.

As well as my tracked knocker I have got an Atlas Copco hand held hydraulic post driver which can run off a power pack or anything with at least 30lpm flow. It works really well and will take up to a 4" round or a 5x3 square sawn. Its handy for getting in where you cant with a machine. Im not sure how the old parmiters manage to hold their money so much, as they are quite ok but modern ones are so much better. The proper parmiter contractors were all completely hydraulic with hydraulic legs, sliding head stock and the 250kg square weight. An orange one made £500 at a sale recently
