I'm on the look out for an old 4x4. The one I'm looking at is a Navara on a 04 plate. 66k miles, full service history. This one looks to good to be true!

What are the best checks that can be done to make sure it is ligit?

VIN plate, engine number, HPI.....what else should I be looking for?

Make sure you check the engine is not one of the ones where the con rod goes. There is a list of number online somewhere.

No 3 rod goes through the side on some engines , a faulty batch of con rod bolts I believe . I have an 05 D22 with 80k on it now . I change the oil and filter every 6k religiously . It has been fine and a good truck .

Today's been a long day and a waste of time mate......Why don't people just tell it how it is?

The truck that the bloke sent me pictures of was not the truck that we drove to view!

Eight hour round journey and still not got a motor!

In the diesel trade they got the moniker "knackered Navara" for good reason.

Like the looks personally but wouldn't buy one. Think ironically that the bigger output engine is the safer option if my memory serves me right.
