Unless you need the timber, i wouldnt waste my time on those two deeply fissured short sections.

Even then the butt end looks knotty at the top.

Interesting grain iam sure but perhaps a pain keeping flat once milled and free from checking in this warm weather....

In some degree of agreement with Big Beech above ,.... I am wondering what quality of timber this will yield and what it's value may be ? I have seen quite a few threads on here of people milling timber ( which i think is a good thing by the way !) I had an alaskan mill 25 years ago .... but does any one manage to sell much of their milled timber and have they found it worthwhile ( profitable ) when taking in to account all the work and expenses ?

Yes I am going to take the bad end off the main trunk to give me room for the mill to exist. The rest is being saw up for use around the farm, as benches and tables as it is a large bunk house.

So their in need off benches and tables for out side.

The pieces I have cut have warped with in minutes off being cut.
