I'd put money on it bein white admiral , pretty much same markings as it's commie cousin but no red, lays eggs on honey suckle. Not common. Purple emperor noticeably bigger and purplish tint

It's a Purple emperor and looks like a female one ..... white admirals don't have eye spots on their fore wings

Great find: you must have been in mature oak wood...?

That's one I would love to see. I used to read BB's accounts of them in his wood in Northants. He used to collect the eggs from the sallow leaves and raise them to maturity before release.
