Hi

Does anybody have a reasonably cheap chainsaw for sale

Must be reliable and of minimum of 50cc. 20 ins blade preferable

Can't justify spending lots on a new saw as it won't get used much

Lots on ebay but I'm wary of buying a saw I have no idea on the history of

:blushing:

Can't help with a particular saw. But 20" on a 50cc saw is pushing it, 16"-18" would be more realistic. But if you're not going to be using it much, I suppose you can put up with sluggish cut.

Been running an MS390with a 20 "blade but now its playing up even after a fuel filter and fuel line New crank shaft seals and a carb.Piston looks good and compression seems good

Just need something to replace it

Its a good saw , nice and powerful about 88cc I suppose a 390 is about on par for a modern spec.

Whats the Husky 288 like there is one on ebay that sounds ok

Missed out on a 357xp yesterday ( bummer)

The ms 390 had a new plug as well by the way

A 288 is an old muscle saw . Loadsa grunt 87cc so more than you need/want . but hey would be loony on a 20"

Used to run a 20" before I brought a 357 and it was no bother but it worked great on a 32" as well.

Hi Slackbladder

I have a really nice 038Super on a 20". Perfect except there's a repaired, non structural crack in the clutch cover. Saw works a treat and doesn't look as if it's been used as a pro-saw at all. It dropped a 24" big old birch a couple of weeks ago, no problem. Almost new chain. I'm looking for £150.

I'd bite this mans hand off if I were you!

Cracking saw, just sold mine on for £100 more than what he's asking for!

Real torquey beast!
