Yard costs

Hi, was just wondering what sort of money people have to pay for yard space/parking up places. I'm thinking something proper within a secure yard, shipping container included, area about 40m x 20m.

What's it worth weekly?

Cheers, ste

Is it an industrial unit/yard and so business rates to pay on top or included in rent? Can you make money from the space ie logs /mulch etc and so justify the cost more.

All these are questions and more that I'm asking myself at the moment as about to take on a yard to run from.

Still interested to hear what others pay and if it's worth it.

I couldn't run from home, 2 trucks 1 van 150 bags of logs 1 forklift 4 containers, chip storage etc etc, my yard is worth every penny.

Gray git yeah its classed as industrial, can do what you want afaik, chip can be tipped in another part of the yard as well, so can soil as well I think. The rates and that are included, as is the container but there's no leccy

We bought 2500m2 with decent buildings for 12'500euros or £10k

Plus side is that we can use it as a stock yard for chips and no permissions required for business use.

Before we exchanged our use of some land for doing the private garden for the owner.

Buying own land is cheaper long term and yes, it is a good future investment.

Just having water and electric put in and an extension built.

Never ending spendout...bleh!:blushing:
