With small chippers you will find you have to spend a lot of time trimming the branches before you can feed them through.

Generally speaking, the cheaper it is the less effective it will be.

The best small chipper I used for under £1k was a second hand entec treebusta.

really solid machine but they don't come up that often nowadays.

They were repaced by an inferior design - timberwolf something, which looks like a squared off megaphone on wheels.

What sort of volume are you hoping to process?

most you will be talking is maybe a 16f trailer by 7ft trailer stacked about 4ft high that what you mean by volume?

will it also shred privet?

If you mean the small green stuff the answer is that any chipper will deal with it if you put it through with sticks or branches. Chippers are designed to deal with wood; if you want to shred green material you need a shredder.

Sounds picky but they are different machines for different purposes.

I can vouch that the Treebusta is a fine machine.

Do greenmech have any plans to sell the shredder bit from the eco150 as a separate unit?

Just theshredder part of the Combi? Sorry no, we did one only and I know where it is and it wasn't near £1k either....

The shredder drum for a CS100 got stuck in development too....

The cs100 will chip any leafy material presented to it, I chipped a clematis that was about 40' long and 10' wide.

I pulled it off a big tin roof, inspected for debris, rolled it up like a sausage, cut it into 6' sausages , stuffed it in the chipper then put some big long conifer through with it, hey presto!:thumbup1:
