I assume you'll access the wood from the top of the hill? If you're going to hike up a steep bank with a 42"+ saw, swing it around for a few hours and then march back down, good luck, especially as you're going to need to go up and down for each log!

 

 

If you read my thread from 3days, ago I apologized for not saying that I would cut up the trunks into shorter lengths to winch them down the hill etc.

Read mine carefully, your access TO the logs! For every log you have to walk up the hill, attach the winch to the log to pull it out, then walk down, retrieve the cable and back up to get the next log, assuming you cut the logs at the same time, and not cut and winch, which would probably kill you! Also, a bar that size, you're talking husq 3120xp upwards, so 25+kg, plus a full combi can (you'll need all 5l of fuel) 8+kg, wedges, sledgehammer, slings to choke the logs, so expect 50kg of kit to carry, so as I say, can you access from the top of the hill when you cut the logs up?
