where they professionals coolie?read in the paper today some groundsman lost all his fingers in a "mulcher" doing tree work

 

I dont know how many were Pros,but I do recall HSE saying that the majority were Forestry c/saw pruners.Do you know who the unfortunate groundie worked for.

Nasty Dean. Good honest post though. Try not to get MRSA!

 

Have you noticed that anyone who has a chainsaw accident is automatically a 'tree surgeon' in the eyes of the media?

 

You never read ' fat clueless amateur severs arm after fall from ladder with B&Q chainsaw during misguided attempt to save £200' do you?

i can imagen forestry pruners havin a few cuts,

 

he was an old guy,didnt work for a tree co.

But I use climbing gear and a chainsaw Mick, not ladders and a bow saw.:001_tt2:

 

Evidently not to good use. Get yourself on a ladder n bow saw course. It would be best suited for your type of work and far less painful. You will have to do maintenance, felling,snedding and cross cutting with a bow saw first as a pre requisite to ladder work.....Good Luck.:001_smile:......Failing that, jack it all in and go do a girlies job. :laugh:

They stopped doing these courses donkeys years ago, have you thought about becoming an instructor, there only you old enough to know these ancient techniques.

 

Mind you, you thought the prussic was cutting edge technology, so scrap that idea :001_tt1:
