A bit of bending

Doing a job that needs a few curved components so thought I would post up some pics.

 

The main arch is just laminated but the second piece has bit too tight a curve to manage in one so have first steam bent the laminates before glueing them together.

 

First the arch which was relatively straight forward. No pics of it being made I am afraid.

 

That's a really nice table. Did you design it your self or work off a plan

Not sure what it is ,but from 1 of your pics it looks like it could be a display cabinet/desk thing ! It looks like nice quarter sawn oak on the legs and those curved bits have an ecclesiastical / gothic style to them , ..... and I am unsure what it will be for ! where about's in devon are you ? I am in Newton Abbot .

A fine piece such as that must surely be finished with Liberon finishing oil !!

 

You would think so from my usual recommendations for it but I may yet go for linseed oil as this will darken the oak a bit more over time and fit in better with the other oak in the church.

An amazing piece of workmanship. Very nice, always love oak myself:thumbup1:

 

BUT, I was going to say this;

 

Very nice looking Piece of woodwork. Wish i had the skills for that.

For me tho, the casters look awefull. Sorry :001_smile:
