Tree bicycle would be ideal for this kind of thing exact same as spikes on straight climbs without any damage to the tree. Saves expense on mewps etc and keeps you off wobbly ladders. :thumbup1:

Re-reading it is quite funny without a description. This is a tree bicycle ( thinking about it probably not their correct name haha) it's a set of bands that go round the tree and you just jump on and strap in. Loosen and tighten the bands as the trees girth changes. Designed for Palm tree pruning I believe, but a pole is a pole. Get a tower to lift you half way up, make sure you have a fairly short rope and climb light. Use a silky to clean the spikes off the branches before you grab them and avoid the upper most canopy cos you gonna get scratched like a bitch
