Get a few, a bit odd as utility work needs doing anyway.:confused1:

A while ago we went to a complaint job, to clear up some brash that had been left at customers house.

Got there and he’d dragged it all a couple of hundred yards, up his garden, to the gate then stacked neatly , nice enough , even nicer considering he was in plaster with a broken leg!

we chipped it and he still gave us a ten spot, tried to decline but he wasn’t having it

Other than that. A little bit of cash now and again, cakes sausages, eggs, beer bottle of whisky. one of my mates was even given a live chicken. Gotta love suffolk:001_tongue:

Would I be out of order to stick a 10% 'service charge' (discretionary, of course) on top of the final bill like they do in restaurants?:001_smile:

I suppose you could...but it nicer having someone give you something because they wanted too out of gratuide.

Had a funny one once; was doing quite a lot of work both arb work and stonewalling for a mega rich retired city dude- 43 yrs old- and we came back just after chritmas and when he paid us at the end of the week he told us he had put in the 5% rise , as if we were on his books, saying we weren't charging enough!! we were on a higher day rate than anyone else working there anyway!!:001_smile:
