That does,t surprise me they learned from there mistakes and listened to all the feed back they got. Just a shame there prices went up so much and made them bout 10% bigger then the old ones.:confused1:

The new shape ranger looks a lot bigger, but its not much in the flesh, I compared mine to a `03 model, the biggest difference was in ground clearance and overall height, yes it is slightly longer in overall length and wheelbase, and a bit on width.

Compared the same with a `59 narava and hardly any difference, except for the height.

The load space in the back on a double cab is a bigger selling point for me. I have a few saws and a fuel can but mainly tool boxes and every now and again 3 or 4 25L cans of diesel for the machines as we have 2 bunded tanks that stay in the woods. Compared to the new shape l200 the size of the back and the truck is massive but next to a navara it's pretty much the same. MPG is pretty much the same now on all new trucks but you don't buy a 4x4 for economy so can't moan about it but they do say the rangers can get up to 35mpg. I'm going to test drive a couple this week and also booked a D-max so I will see.

Just corrected that for you. :)

Sorry but for me ford just don't have the build quality, I will never buy another.

I have a new shape focus and have to say its excellent and the build quality across the full range including their new commercials has improved massively.

I'm interested in the new ranger. Wild trak with the 3.2 v6 would be a fun one. Although is steep at approx 30k.

The limited is the mid range one I think which is a good balance if its gonna be a work/personal.

We've had a dmax since jan 2013. It's a good truck. Loads of power for towing but a stiff back end feels all the trailers bumps. Cruises well and the reversing camera a useful option. My gripes with it is that the build quality could be better. It all seems a bit plasticky and the door cards move when you put the windows up. As a work truck it's good and has proven good for our needs but we aren't oversold on it.

I think the gearbox can be a bit clunky and the power delivery can be a bit delayed when going on roundabouts.

The reviews in the D-max have not been so good and they are little bit more on price. I will see this week and can compare but at the moment I'm really for the ranger and now I've got a dealer with a 63 plate limited who said they will give me a good deal on it so might even have one by weeks end.

Everyone I know driving new Rangers in SA are having massive engine management and injector problems.

May be the crap quality diesel in SA but I will avoid them.
