Best mobile for getting a signal?

Sick to death of looking at the Nokia all singing all dancing Lumia to find it can't get a signal to make a call or send a text while my bottom of the range Nokia has nearly a full signal. Need a new Smartphone but all the features in the world don't count for Jack if you can't use it.

Looking at possibly the Iphone 5S or Samsung S5/Note3, was told in the O2 shop that Iphones are only worth getting if you've got other Apple products and want to integrate them.

So what phone gets a signal when all others are struggling?

Regards,

Steve.

I have a 4S, signal is OK. I am on Three, I changed from O2 after a couple of decades because their signal has become non-existant!

If you do fancy an iPhone don't believe what they told you in the shop, that is rubbish. I do sync my phone with my iPad but that isn't a reason to have either. A bit like saying the only use for a camera phone is if you upload all the pics to your pc. You can if you want but it doesn't make any difference either way.

Good phones, expensive, intuitive, about as powerful as the average laptop and probably more useful (in my opinion)

I did not realize the phone itself made a difference . I thought it was just down to the signal strength , if any , in any particular area . For what its worth I have just " upgraded " from a Nokia Lumina to a Motorolla G I think its called . I am with Orange/EE but never had a signal problem except right out in the sticks were nobody had a signal no matter what phone or network ...

My girlfriends s4 and dads s4 are terrible for signal both on different networks so it's not that. My iPhone 4s is pretty good to be fair.

Out of all the smartphones if say the iphone is definitely most user friendly

Funny this signal thing with O2 isn't it?

They had the best coverage for years but seem to have sat on their laurels.

I'm switching to EE shortly because of signal issues amongst other things.

Reception is mainly all about signal strength, but some handsets definitely have the edge over others.

Anything a bit more retro with an external aerial will outperform smartphones in this respect.

The benefits of a smartphone win it for me though, but I'm lucky enough to have coverage most places I go.

Look forward to the replies to this thread. I asked the same question when buying as we live in the sticks with poor reception. As no one knew I just bought a cheap Huawei. Gets as good reception as my mates all singing all dancing Iphone but neither are as good as my wifes ancient Nokia 3510.
