I'm quite lucky my local suppliers will not sell to the public only company's until there is enough in stock for everyone .

Some company's forget there regular customers ie tradesmen have bills to pay and without the materials for the job because they've sold them to some old joe off the street which really p****s us off .

Big shortages here - situation dire is what my 2 suppliers both say. Timbermills won't even give projected supply dates and prices have risen 30% since October/November gales. I've got 80 bays of closeboard/gravel board/concrete posts to put up, all overdue now and have explained to the customers - I'm sure some didn't believe me so told them they're welcome to phone around! Came back to me in a couple of days and said they'd wait for me to get panels and do the job

Wet winter in Baltic states where cheap timber comes from so the machinery couldn't get the wood out, gales stopped boats getting out of ports and getting into our ports, fences down all over UK (and Europe), will take months for the supplies to catch up with demand. Fencing companies round here have laid guys off as after the yard is swept for the umpteenth time, there's nothing for them to do
