Oregon chains ??

I don't find Oregon chains bad at all, I've been doing 3 days solid coppicing and felling and I gave the chain a 3 stroke tickle at the end of each day but it hardly needed it really.

 

Testament to your skill and carefulness keeping it wood and just wood ! :001_smile:

Yes I fully understand your point and I too use both, just wondered what people thought of them. Is the LPX the full chisel?

Yup full chisel. Certainly worth trying a chain or two.

Quick search I found you a bit of gumph to read. They make it in 3/8 to 73 and 75 iirc so don't panic just cos the gumph is about .325

I've run carlton on my own saws last few years, mainly due to price as on hedgelaying work you can go through a chain every 100m due to hiden wire/nails stones etc, never had any real trouble with oregon we use all oregon chains on the saws for the firm I sub too and seem to last pretty well considering we do alot of site clearance.
