I'm expecting a cheque in the next couple of weeks for the annual payment on my woodland, half of which comes from Europe. Another month or so after that I'll be waiting on my single farm payment, ALL of which comes from Europe.

 

Yet I still hope at the next general election that the UK as a whole will take a huge step forward in getting us out of this unholy union as soon as possible!

My holiday this year was in Greece. Beautiful country but it was shocking how absolutely everything had to be paid for with cash - couldn't even pay at a petrol station with a card. No wonder their government is penny-less.

Does it? Uk pays around 12billion to EU and gets about 4billion back in grants etc.
