bought a few blocks of this stuff on ebay and the seller thinks its tufnol.

 

can anyone identify it???

 

here it is turned, seems to go a dark colour but the center is this yellowish hue.

 

original block at the bottom of the post.

if its tufnol it will give off a lot of yellow dust when machining and i think that after years of being used as an insulator its now banned

 

but i may be wrong

Looks like Tufnol , or possibly Paxolin a similar thing . As said resin bonded cloth used on early circuit boards and as a insulator . I have machined it in the past .

yes it gave off lots of yellow dust when it was being machined and i wasn't taking any chances. i had my blue 3m mask on and two 14" fans blowing the dust away from me.

 

what a mess.
