Rw Zk2

Hi, I know there are many other threads on the Rw but looking to get one. Had a browse on YouTube for different setup and it came up about rope dia.

I have Yale magma ice 13mm would this be suitable for the zk2?

Also for the stiff tether honey bros have their own one, is this any good or are there others. Bearing in mind I can't splice so would struggle to make my own?

Cheers for any feedback.

I tried mine on a 13mm rope (Samson arbormaster) to start with and didn't really get on with it that well, bit too stiff, I then moved onto 11.7mm yale lime light and it became so much easier. you'll find if your using mechanical acenders in conjunction with the RW that they work much better with a thinner rope as well.

Im not a fan of the honey bros tether. Too bulky and the eyes are too sloppy. Zk2 works ok on 13mm but its a bit fat for it. This means you wear out hitch cords less often but have a smaller range of control in terms of top speed and inherent friction in the system.

Ive been using Adams tether for just over a month. Its the daddy :)

I'm still yet to get one as I have been put off by the rope dia. I can't justify getting a new rope for this setup just yet as the one I have still does me well with the hItch climber.

If I am able to get the feel of the RW with the 13mm I will get one?

How much are the Bourne tethers?

Get it bud, you won't be disappointed. I started using the RW on a 13mm line and it's a very good base to start. You will want a smaller diameter line in the future but this will do whilst you learn and teach yourself the concept of srt. Buying kit is always easier in stages rather than one big hit.

Buy the RW, learn it and when you feel as though you've got the hang of it then start to think about a better line.

Do you have a foot ascender?, this is pretty much a must unless your any good at footlocking.

Happy learning and let us know how you get on.
