Can anyone give me a name for this plant, it is growing on some land that I am about to graze cattle on and need to check that it is not toxic

That is the hardest question I have ever been given . A bit of a picture would be good ?

Looks like cuckoopint, lords and ladies, wake-robin bod gabhair, Adam and Eve, tender ear, Jack-in-the-pulpit. It is a plant with a great many common names, possibly as many as one hundred.

all common names for it

slim

Think the berries can be nasty .....

Its not Lord's and ladies its skunk cabbage so it must be damp ground

It can have some negative side effects on stock so probably worth doing some reading on it. I seem to recall you need to dig it out rather than spray it.

That's the one; skunk cabbage, Lysichiton americanum [Collins Guide to Freshwater Life Plate 90]

Smells not unpleasant (for some values of unpleasant:001_smile:)
