I'm wondering where the increase in cost comes from, is it the retail outlets buying from husky UK and selling to us at a huge profit or are husky UK making the big money?

Machines are the least profitable products we sell. We pay a lot more than £330 and thats excluding the VAT.

Easy lift is probably on the money and check out Josh's post.

They had a successful revolution and booted out the monarchy for good. We didn't.

The corgis have to eat something. And the contents of your wallet will do nicely.

Errr, doesn't the monarchy generate many more millions of pounds than it costs us?

They never had a monarchy. ' the hell as the crown got to do with it? That's just BS.

I was counting 'The Crown' as monarchy and post was meant in jest. No need to get heated.

But if I have offended thee, I hereby apologise.

The fact that a retailer in the US can sell an item for less than the pre tax cost to a UK retailer seems bonkers and as for Sweden being more expensive makes even less sense.

I'd like to spend my hard earned pennies in the UK and as near to home as possible, but my nearest dealer wants over £700. The saving I mentioned in the op equates to the best part of a days pay.

I'm having a hard time deciding if I support the economy and UK retailers at an increased cost to myself or I say bugger that I'm going for the best deal I can get.

If everyone acted in the same selfish way would we end up getting a better deal or would more retailers here go bust putting more people out of work?

£700?????? He's probably quoted for a 560xpg as my dealer did......he couldn't understand how the net price I'd found was so much cheaper until we realised he was quoting for the wrong saw.

The way I do it is to get my local dealer to quote then have a trail on the net. Go back to the dealer and ask how close he can get. If it's within about 10% or so he gets a sale..........and the servicing and supplies the spares and consumables etc etc and he knows he will get follow up business and loyalty.

This means I may pay some extra, BUT if I need something fixing quick or have any problems there is always a solution (so far). That's worth a lot to me, a lot more than a supposed USA/UK price difference.
