I was working for a utilities outfit a few months ago and we had to travel everyday from Exeter to the Reading area to do tree work along canals, i was up at 4.30am, got collected at 6am and got home about 6/7pm. On a few accassions we had to drive to fecking Dudley (near Brum). Too much mileage for me as we were wedged into small vans or over cramped pickups. They were too tight to pay for B&B and reckoned they'd rather we drove back to Devon every day, they only paid time and no time and a half despite the long hours so i jacked it in fairly swiftly. Now i work for myself i'm willing to travel 90 mins each way if the money is good.

Go to normandy, Monaco & Switzerland to work a few times a year. Customer pays for all the traveling, then stay in there place, get taken out for meals most nights.

But normally about hour and a half about the limit, but then depends on the job.

Day to Day work an hour each way . Although I suppose I am lucky as most of the time its 20/ 30mins each way . I have travelled over 70miles to work then the same back again before now . This is only done for very lucrative contract work ie top dollar :001_smile:

We put the Christmas tree at shells office in Aberdeen. We have to go and take it out too. 6hours one way. 2 hours on site.

I had to take a x-mas tree from north of Inverness to south Essex.
