Oops - me again.

 

Are you after yew specifically or the pattern/colouring? Just thinking that the broader the range of species you'll consider the more chance of finding what you want.

 

This is Monkey Puzzle though I'm afraid I don't have it now.

There is a wood turning supplier yandles I think there Down your way they might have some

Indeed they are - I know yandles well. They are very pricey on timber and what's more id rather give some coin to a fellow arbtalker.

Yew is specifically what we are after.

My own fault really as I gave her a choice of options and the heart has been set on yew!!!

I have these in the pile. Been on the ground at least a year.

 

Maybe a bit too big? 4inch by 3ft 5 inch by 4ft and 8inch by 2 ft

Got any pics? The long haired Sargent major is particular after yew!! But if it is really nice I might be able to convince her!

I know cherry can be a bit prone to splitting but that the gamble I suppose.

 

Process is to cut thin with the bandsaw and sand up both sides. Keeping the bark on.
