Ball lock krabs

What is the position on using these on your main line? I have seen people climb on them but I have also heard you can't? what are peoples views on this?

If it is triple action then it's fine to climb on, as long as it is rated for the correct SWL. Ball locks are just a different way of having a third action to open the crab. At least that's what I always thought

Yeah that's what I thought but I don't want to get into using ball locks and then get boll***ed for it

Some people will tell you they are safer than normal twisties. I don't get on with them because they are a bit fiddle for my potato fingers.

and what part of legislation says you cant climb on them, when will all the folk on here realise that THERE IS NO LEGAL REQUIREMENT other than advice on the H&S stuff, common sense should be the overall assesment you make, If you find a way thats safe and suits you, thats the way you do it, as long as your kit is safe, serviceable, and if required, lollered, then thats the way to go

I love ball locks but keep them well maintained with dry lubricant and clean.
