Another vote for Bacho. 3/8" 1/2" spanners etc. Aldi ratchet spanners are pretty good too.

If you get them on offer they're not too bad IMO i brought a set of ratcheting spanners sizes 8mm to 19mm i think for £40 when they were on offer.

 

I have there advanced stuff. Actually very good, plus they are all in there own cases. So now big tool boxes or storage needed, just slide the cases under the bench when not needed.

 

Plus for call outs I just throw the cases in the boot.

Bought a halfords professional socket set back in the late 90s, and yes it was an emergency, but they've been great. Knackered the 3/8 ratchet after about 5 years and they replaced it for free, apart from that its been great, I'd buy one again.

I have mostly Teng, all been excellent so far.

 

Britool, Facom and Snap On are all good but more expensive.

And I can agree with the comment above about the price when on offer, they always have loads on offer. I got a large socket set with spanners and Allen keys etc for 100

I'm a big snap on fan, but got mac britool facom, Irwin pliers and vice grips are good ... Good luck and spend a fortune
