Doesn't release under tension so make sure your rescue guy carries a knife!

Ive always used a distel and a pulley and its always been fine but im seriously thinking about getting a cinch,wot ropes do u guys use with them?

 

Works best on 10mm, I use blaze.

i use honey bee as its a better colour than herkulees and 10mm rope that comes in over 22kn is hard to find

I've used a Trango cinch on my lanyard for a while now. Compact, easy to adjust (single or doubled rope) and releases under load - great! The Cinch does seem to be super sensitive to rope diameter however.

 

We've done some testing on Cinch's over the last few years and confirmed what the manufacturer says about rope choice i.e. it is very important to use a dynamic rope. Impact forces from drop tests on low strecth rope can do bad things to the Cinch. Personally, I use Mammut Supersafe 10.2mm:

Hey stev- only just read this thread. I have a 5m split tail (yale xtc) with a micro pully and distel hitch on it- it is not that dissimilar to the vt set up, only simpler, and is usable one handed. Love it.
