remapping truck engines

whats the average hp increase ,would it be around 20/25hp or does it depend on the engine

I chipped my l200 the company I got the chip from reckons my truck at 134 bhp is now kicking out 164+ makes a big difference to power esp towing. Eliminates flat spots. Not improved fuel tho but no worse than before. Paid 350 ish for it but we'll worth the money. Dtuk performance chips/ upgrades is where I brought mine. They do loads of different ones.

thats what im after,mainly towing

For your dmax?

 

I find ours is a bit lacking in getting going with a fair load on. So would be interested in your results

 

Used a tun-it chip on the Navara d40 when that was here and made it go like stink.

Modern turbo diesels can achieve 30%more hp,so it can be worth doing, just it means you may go through parts quicker

 

 

That 30% is pretty much what the makers de tune by to add longevity to the engine. Any chip or boosting of power is eating into this safety margin, that said with careful use and not just clogging them everywhere they are ok.
