im after a chain brake/sprocket side cover for a 262xp I own.

Ive looked high & low and thought I found one on ebay from the States however its arrived and doesn't fit although its clearly advertised for a 262xp.:cursing::cursing::cursing:

any ideas where I may find one bar our local dealer who I don't like using unless a last resort!

Ask Ebayer kaaz24: Karen is half of Wills & Grabham in Somerset. They're Husky agents who have always come up with bits for me, e.g. front handle retaining bolts for my 262 a couple of weeks ago.

I read of the older metal brake lever models being hard to find spares for when I was looking at one.

That is not a concern regarding the 262xp, as it had a plastic one from the beginning (1989). :001_smile:

What did change, is that the clutch cover was magnesium from about 1997, while it was plastic on earlier saws.

A quite common mistake is to assume that the 262 belongs to the same "family" as the 162, 61, 266, 272 etc. That assumption is not correct - it actually belongs to the smaller and lighter 154-family.
