Hedge cutters

Just wandering what you guys use to sharpen up your hedge cutters? I use a small grinding disc on the angle grinder but was wandering if there was a better way to do it?

About right. Unless you want the expense of buying the proper tool. But unless you sharpen a lot of cutters it won't pay.

 

A small disc is the easiest way, but remember a cutting disc is not designed to grind.

What type of disc do you use? Done mine with a dremel and small stone attachment before.

I use a finger sander or a filing sander what ever you wish to call it, its basically a 10mm wide belt sander

I use a granberg chainsaw sharpener....Rob D on here sells them

As long as the end result is a sharp blade at the correct angle a files perfect,i personally use an angle grinder because its faster than a file.

Finger sander all the way . I take the birs off the bak with a small file
