Ive been asked to look at a mower for my mate, its a mountfield with an Honda cgv 135 engine.

I have stripped the carb and give it a good clean through but I need to get a new set of the gaskets that go either side - theres a few :001_rolleyes:

Any ideas? can you get spares for these carbs?

thanks

Engine number next to the oil dip stick tube.

GJAB-..............etc

The 'hard to start' bit is most probably down to the choke not fully engaging. The mechanism is a bit rubbish and needs very carefully adjusting. Remove the air filter an check the choke butterfly.

The cutting out after a few seconds is likely down to a partly blocked needle valve. This may result in insufficient fuel flow to keep the engine running after the initial bowlfull is used up.

The Honda GX carb is the most finicky and tempremental carb to be found on any modern mower. The main jet and the nozzle will want removing for cleaning.

I will check out the gaskets and let you know.

There is one gasket between the insulator and the block.

Then one each side of the heat shield

Then one between the carb and the filter box support plate.

Any idea which ones you need?

The ones either side of the carb are knackered- stuck to carb and broken up.
