Might be on the right track there Ady. Pumps have electric motors, motors have shafts that stick out and could be shoved down that hole (if they are only small motors)

 

You got it Barrie.:thumbup: Stand shafts in the hole, it stops them rolling around ya bench when trying to change bearings.

We had our first,can you hurry up with our mower ,THE GRASS IS GROWING today,if i had a pound for every time id been told these words of wisdom over the years i would retire,Then another customer nearly passed out in the shop,when he was told it would be about 3 weeks before he could have his mower back,Just do mine first its ok,!! yes sir we will ring you when its ready lol

I'll be glad when the work eases off a bit, but that will probably not be until easter.

 

One good thing about working on a Sunday is that there are no interruptions as the shop is shut.

 

I managed to stay off Arbtalk and completed 5 full Garden Tractor services. Thats all the ones that came in last week done.

 

Back to 2t stuff tomorrow, and interruptions.

Video request for Barrie (or tips for use) . Use of Briggs valve spring compressor tool.

Spent best part of 2 hrs yesterday trying to remove and re-install the valves on a Tecumseh HS40 horizontal. There's obviously a knack for using these things (or alternative) which i don't have yet.:confused1:

 

do you compress just spring? spring and 1 or 2 of the end caps? grrr. any home made better tools anyone?
