Perkins vs Cummins ?

Any thoughts? I've heard the cummins are much better on fuel...

An old farmer mate of mine used to say " that ones a goodun , Its got the Cummins engine " So I guess he rated them .....

Cummins better made more reliable. The electronic perkins engines very good on fuel

old perkins generaly leaked from every gasket, not sure what the new ones are like.

Had a V8 cummins in one of the lorries and it was a lovely lump and sounded soo sweet.

No joy yet but I haven't really had time to look, you know the usual loads of other stuff to get sorted

If you are referring to the 6 pot 5.7ltr ish units there is nothing in it. We have a Perkins Phaser in the tractor and a Cummins in the chipper and they are pretty much the same. Both knock out between 120/210hp depending on spec.
