Do you guys steralize your silkys after working on diseased trees? Is there a risk of passing on infection? If so could anybody recommend/tell me what solutions are best to clean/steralize pruning saws. Cheers

I always used Milton - tested on babies so should be good enough for my trees :sneaky2: Followed by air drying.

Jays Fluid was also recommended when i was in college, but never used it.

It would be worth trying to speak to someone who works on the Brighton elms about this, as they have to be incredibly careful with DED.

Has there been any studies done on whether infections are passed on from not sterilizing or if it even makes a difference?

I would have thought that any kitchen disinfectant spray would do the trick.

Actually thinking about it the stuff home brewers use to sterilize there gear would probably be very good since that has to kill bacteria, moulds and fungus's.
